This week our main Team event in official iRacing Series was the GT Endurance with GT3 cars. We choose to fight with our academy team in a Ferrari 488. The race was 3 Hours in Jose Carlos Pace track at Interlagos Brazil, a well known track from Formula 1 races.
We had a bad qual session and we started way back in the grid P54. The first stint was proven really hard due to the short distance of the track and the large number of race cars. With the lack of incidents we climbed 22 spots until the first refueling pitstop. We the lost some time on the start of the second stint because of the cold tires but we quickly regained our pace. We along with 3 more cars fighting for P31.
In the next pit stop we had to stay still a little more than expected to correct a fuel problem. Afterwards we managed to finish 27th in top split with a lot of track traffic due lapped cars. We consider this event as a rather successful one, since our academy drivers do not have the experience in team and endurance events in this hard level. Our drivers for this event were Petros Themelis and Spyros Derekis with the aid of Andy Perrs.
