New season, new cars and that means new challenges for us. What is the best way to celebrate this? Go crazy with 3 different endurance series and 28 hours of racing within 2 weeks!
First of all we wanted to try a car that is not new but it was a first timer for our team. Holden ZB Commodore Supercar in the great Mount Panorama Circuit for the BATHURST 1000. Academy member P. Dimakakos along with L. Tzivelekis and A. Perrs started in tenth place in the first split and we kept a really good pace during the race. For the first quarter of the race our drivers avoided mistakes and where running in P10-P13 without problems.
An accident send us back to 24th place and then we tried to climb back up
Stint after stint we got to p19 until lap 139 where our race ended when our car could not be raced any more.
At the same weekend the iRacing Endurance Le Mans Series had the first race of the season in Sebring. There we chose to say our own welcome to the new GTE entry Chevrolet Corvette C8.R. We raced in the first split of the Saturday morning race and in the other two races found us in second split.
All races with all the drivers that we used were not that successful and we finished in the middle of the grid. Mixed feelings. We could have better results with better pace. We believe that we could you the experience of the weekend in Sebring to get better feeling of this new GTE.
The third big event was the famous Petit Le Mans featuring the full IMSA line-up of cars at Road Atlanta for this 10-hour race. We were eager to get behind the wheel of the brand new iracing LMP2 car, Dallara P217.
The traffic in this difficult track is always a big issue and the this event was not an exception. Started 8th and we could follow the pace of the rest of the field. At the middle of the race an accident send us in the pits for some minutes and we lost some laps. The only good thing is that we only lost 2 places. We finished eleventh and we really enjoyed the 10 hours in the Dallara.
We will mostly run the Corvette in this season in iLMS endurance series. We hope for good results and we are working to bring you new things in our team. Stay tuned.
