Last week can be summarized in just two words. Sebring and Practise. All drivers of the Hellenic Racing are practising for the iRacing World Tour and Special Events Series that will take place on the 12th of March in Sebring International. Event will start at 12.00pm GMT and the duration is 12 hours. The selection of the cars is between all the GT3 ones or alternatively the Corvette Prototype. The car of our choise is the Mclaren MP4-12C GT3 and we will participate with two race teams with a total number of seven drivers.
Despite the fact that we still have 30 days until the race, the team is spending more than 4 hours practising, on a daily basis, trying to make the most from both the track and the car setup. Due to the different time zones of the drivers and the heavy travelling for some of us this is not always possible but we hope our eager & passion of what we do will reflect to the outcome of the race and show what are the true capabilities of this team.
In Daytona, back in Jan. we have managed to qualify 9th, in the first pool, but during the first three hours we have been hit three times and been parked in the pit lane for more than 25 min. In order to avoid similar situations we are trying to minimize our mistakes and increase our race pace. Hopefully we will be in a position to finish between the first ten cars of our category on the first pool, which is our main goal for that event.
As all of us know, one of the most important aspect of racing is sponsorship and last week we managed the first addition to our 2016 sponsor line-up. Pallas Market is a Greek company specialized in British Auto Parts since 1984. The owner George Pallas, is a big fan of motor racing, having some real races with Mini Cooper on his back.
That’s all for this week. Take care and race as hard as you can!
